Management Development Program

We are delighted to share the success of our recently concluded Management Development Program (MDP) tailored exclusively for the officers of the Naval Dockyard. This intensive 10-day certification course aimed at enhancing the skill sets and knowledge base of participants, covering a diverse range of crucial topics. The MDP consisted of 3 groups with a batch of 100 participants. Distinguished industry experts, including Sunil Zode, Chairman of the Indian Chamber of Commerce for Affirmative Action, CMD of Connaitre Group, and supply chain expert Adv NV Chandramouli, along with Capt Anshul Rajvanshi, Managing Director of Synergy Maritime Recruitment Services, were among the esteemed trainers.

Program Highlights:

Soft Skills Development:

The program kickstarted with a focus on soft skills such as team building, leadership, and motivation. Participants engaged in interactive sessions, workshops, and hands-on exercises to foster effective communication and emotional intelligence.

Marketing Insights:

Essential aspects of marketing, including basics, branding, digital
strategies, and the application of various marketing theories, were covered comprehensively.
The program aimed to equip officers with the skills necessary to navigate the dynamic world of
marketing.

Human Resource Management:

Addressing challenges in HR analytics, legal issues, and
evolving trends in human resource management formed a vital component. Participants gained
insights into the strategic role of HR in organizational success.

Financial Acumen:

Finance concepts, understanding financial statements, capital structure,
capital expenditure, and working capital management were explored. This segment provided
officers with a robust foundation in financial management.

Wealth Management:

An in-depth look into capital markets, portfolio building, and tax planning
provided officers with valuable insights into wealth management, ensuring a holistic
understanding of financial strategies.

Economic Perspectives:

Officers were immersed in macroeconomic discussions,
understanding the current economic scenario both globally and domestically. Exploring
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors and carbon footprints added a
contemporary touch to economic discussions.

Government and Legal Insights:

Participants delved into the intricacies of the legal
environment in India, covering direct and indirect taxes, labor laws, and gaining insights into the
government budget, national income, balance of payments, and the role of the Reserve Bank of
India.

Technology Trends:

The program addressed the impact of technology on business, covering
topics like Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning
(ML), and the rising concern of cybercrimes.

Dynamic Faculties:

Esteemed faculties including Dr. Sriniwas Dhure, Dr. Sangeeta Pandit,
Agnelo Menezes, Chirag Thakkar, Dr. Sukhmeet Kalsi, Hemal Shah, Hirnank Mazumdar,
Jayanta Sengupta, Maya Udeshe, Nazimuddin Kaazi, Purv Shah, and Rohit Verma graced the
program, providing a rich blend of academic prowess and industry experience.

Cyber Security Workshop for Naval Dockyard Officers

SIMSREE conducted a 4-hour training program on cyber security, from 10.30AM – 12.30 PM and from 2.30 PM – 4.30PM, with a total of 100 delegates. The training sessions took place on various dates: November 17th (Friday), November 23rd (Thursday), and November 29th (Wednesday), as well as December 5th (Tuesday) and December 8th (Friday) of 2023. The program covered essential topics such as Cyber Security Basics, Phishing and Social Engineering, Password Management, Safe Web Browsing, Malware and Ransomware, Email Security, Mobile Device Security, Identity Theft, Honey Trapping, Hacking, Bullying, and Blackmailing. Faculties that were involved are – Mr. Sachin Dedhai and Mr. Rohit Verma.

In keeping with the rich Sydenham tradition of imparting high quality education, the Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education (SIMSREE) was founded in the year 1983.
